Our Next Chapter Begins!

A New Chapter for Riding 4 Life at Rooted Stone Acres

There are some places that just feel right the moment you step onto the land. That’s exactly how we felt during our first full workday at Rooted Stone Acres, the future home of Riding 4 Life’s Penticton programming. It was a fantastic day spent walking the property, dreaming about what’s to come, and beginning the work of shaping this beautiful place into a space for growth, horsemanship, and connection.

The land itself is stunning—wide open skies, rolling ground, and the quiet kind of beauty that invites you to slow down, breathe, and feel the earth solidly under you. Of course, like many places in SnPink'tn, it comes with some truly authentic personality. You may have to dodge the occasional cactus and be mindful of bitterroot pushing its way up through the soil.

If you look closely through the photos above, you might even spot some of the property’s resident horses wandering through the background. They seemed a little curious about what we were up to.

Building Our Penticton Arena

One of the biggest milestones from the day was completing the initial layout for our arena. With the space now marked out, we’ll be able to start putting posts in the ground later this week. Seeing the outline take shape on the land made the vision feel very real.

Before long, this space will include a teaching yard, pens for the herd, and a gathering gathering space where participants can experience the kind of innovative and inclusive community minded work that Riding 4 Life is known for.

A Little Help Goes a Long Way

As with any new space, there’s plenty of hands-on work ahead. Over the coming weeks we’ll be tidying the area—raking pine cones, collecting fallen branches, and clearing the ground so it’s ready for our arena and pens.
