THE RULES
The rules are - there aren’t really any rules - nothing here is sanctioned by anyone.
But you should probably keep the following in mind:
A sense of humour is helpful
Appropriate safety equipment is expected (Minors MUST wear a helmet)
We are only a little political but highly biased toward the good and growth of our beloved ranch and surrounding community. Therefore, event officials and organizers will make up the rules as they go.
Each class will increase in degree of difficulty by adding obstacles, elements, decor, or altering existing obstacles.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Cash grab (warm up round)
Non competitive practice run through the basic course. Shared arena divided into two groups - kiddos, green horses, and lesson clients from 9am - 9:30am, and the rest from 9:30am - 10am.
Lesson Horse Roulette (Team Tournament eligible)
If you are an instructor, trainer, or accomplished horseman in our area, take a spin on a random Riding 4 Life lesson horse around the basic course. (This may just be a great way to have a giggle or two and warm up our lesson horses for their clients coming up in the next class. You are also our demo riders as folks get a chance to see how the course goes)
Rough stock (very green horse)
Intended for truly green horses who have maybe never been off property before, never taken part in an event, have definitely never earned a ribbon or prize before, and who are looking for a positive first showing.
My first rodeo (Team Tournament eligible)
For first time participants and their horses, or for Riding 4 Life lesson clients 13 yrs and older. Coaching permitted.
L’il cowpokes (Team tournament eligible)
For riders 12 yrs and younger with their own horses, or for Riding 4 Life inclusive riders and their lesson horse. Coaches and helping handlers permitted.
The hot flash (you know who you are)
For women of a certain age and older. This course will add some heat... literally. Expect at least one added obstacle that may have a fire or heat theme.
Roping is for dummies
Bring your own rope or borrow one of ours and be prepared to throw it at something! And the heat from the previous class stays by the way.
This class is a drag
To dally or not to dally - that is the question. This class will add a drag obstacle to the mix for the first time in the day.
Take it or leave it speed round
How many obstacles can you get done in 2 minutes or less and still collect some scoring points? The choice is yours. This is the choose your own adventure course. Quality and range of gaits also considered in this one.
All bets are off! (Jackpot round)
Jackpot TBA (part of entry fees to go into the pot) Anything really could happen in this one. Expect the unexpected. Also expect some laughter. Prize money to 4th place - 40%, 30%, 20%, 10%

Please note… All riders must have a horse council number unless they are entering a Team Tournament class with a Riding 4 Life lesson horse, or they are being assisted by a horse council member parent/coach/helper.
Entry Deadline is November 1st to avoid a late fee. (fees must be paid in full to complete your entry)
Entries accepted up to morning of or until we reach 70 individual class entries.
