BARN KIDS HORSE HUSBANDRY PROGRAM

Ages 7 -16 Weekly Hands on Learning Group


Saturdays in Penticton 10am - 12pm

Sundays in Oliver 12pm - 2pm



Spring Session (10 weeks) -$200 +gst

beginning first week of April


Fall Session (8 weeks) -$160 +gst

beginning second week of September







What is Barn Kids?

Barn Kids is a group designed for those who don’t have regular access to a barnyard and all the developmental and recreational benefits of growing up with animals, community, and acreage in their own backyard.



*Please note – this program is intended to supplement participation in our Discover Horses and Beginner Riding programs


Activities Include:

· Cleaning pens, stalls, and paddocks

· Filling/cleaning water tanks and buckets

· Filling hay nets

· Mixing and feeding daily grain rations

· Yard work & grounds keeping chores

· Basic horse healthcare & and herdsmanship

· Equipment care & maintenance


Learning Outcomes:

· Daily care needs of a typical horse

· Teamwork

· Task planning

· Time management

· Problem solving

· Barnyard Safety/Awareness

Registration Policy:

Full payment is required up front to reserve space. Limited space available on a first come, first serve basis. Upon registration you will receive a confirmation email which will include your dates, and basic program registration information. All parents & legal guardians MUST complete a registration form with waiver for each child who plans to participate. These forms are available online, by email, or at our office. They must be fully complete & submitted on the morning of the program at the latest or your child may be denied participation in the program.


**Session rates are for consecutive weeks and cannot be pro-rated
