Life Lessons & Liberty Clinic

Updated: Jan 5

July 7, 8, 9 at the Riding 4 Life Ranch.

$315 (includes gst and stabling)

Liberty work isn't necessary to have a great relationship with your horse, BUT... it definitely doesn't hurt!

Over the years I've noticed that most of the great horsewomen and men I've admired, often practice a fair amount of groundwork with their horses - including Liberty work.

Liberty work isn't just fun, it's a fantastic way to fine tune your horsemanship skills and improve your communication with your horse. That and I always feel a whole lot better about mounting up on a green horse when they're happy to join up with me and respond to my gestures and body language from twenty feet away. Now that's a horse I definitely look forward to riding!

This clinic will have 8-12 participants arriving on Friday afternoon and departing after 4pm on Sunday. The format will be fluid and include demos, exercises and skill building with your own horse, and practice on some of our experienced school horses.

This clinic is open to owners of all ages and can include young unstarted horses as long as they are halter broke to lead and load in a trailer. Mature broke horses are also welcome of course and no previous 'ground work' games or experience are required.

And as far as life lessons go - if you haven't noticed already, this type of horsemanship practice helps us learn just as much about ourselves, as we do about our horses.
